7th and 8th Teacher: Mrs. Ann Hilmes
The seventh and eighth grade class has had an excellent start to the 2016-2017 school year. In science they have been learning about the roles and importance of bacteria, protists, and fungi.
We will be moving on to plants next. In literature we have discussed the different genres of literature and are focusing on fiction and nonfiction right now. In addition to the stories in our literature book we are reading an example of fiction for our read aloud, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabanby J.K. Rowling. The seventh and eighth graders also enjoy writing in their writing journals. Sometimes they can have a free write where they can write about anything they want and other days they will be given a writing prompt.
We are also learning about the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes in Religion and discussing the importance of following God’s laws and making moral choices.
